Sure, networks are allowing people to get used to watching long-form content online. But on the other hand, they're getting themselves used to putting it there. That seems a lot smarter than the alternative model pursued by, say, the RIAA. Yes, the networks will face competition, maybe earlier than there otherwise would have been. But they're also positioning themselves to snatch up the best stuff almost seamlessly. The precedent goes back more than a decade--remember where South Park came from?.
